I've added a few hooks to the Topic Exchange to help out people who want to access it programmatically.

First, there's an XML-RPC interface. This lets you post to channels (which are automatically created if you post to one that doesn't exist) and get the list of channels.

Second, some bits and pieces for the REST folks. You can see the list of topics in human-readable HTML, machine-readable text, and RSS. Only the text one is intended to be machine-readable.
