For my part, I still think SourceSafe sucks, and hope we can swap to CVS someday at my workplace. Perhaps after the current project ...
This is very cool: pythonfs.
It's a patch against LUFS (a tool for implementing user-mode filesystems in Linux) that lets you write your filesystems in Python.
Of course, performance won't be great, as every call has to go to the kernel, then back into user mode code, then into your Python code, then all the way back. But imagine what you can do with this ... :-)
(And it's made by a New Zealander!)
Interesting - Dave says it's intentional. And adds that anybody who isn't going to be an asshole and has a good idea for a scripting.com website can have one. I see that PHP.Scripting.Com isn't taken yet. Python.Scripting.Com is, but it's been dormant for some time.
Now, most of my flow goes to this site right here, where you're reading these words, and I've found out that my readers generally don't follow if I start writing in another place. But if you have a good idea for a topical blog (that has something to do with scripting), Dave's offer could be a great way to make yourself known.
